Agartala's low lying areas flooded

Agartala, Jun 1 (UNI) Many low-lying areas in North Tripura district flooded due to heavy rains and water levels in many rivers was on a rise.

According to official sources here, surface communication between Kanchanpur and Jampui hills and Dharmanagar and Kailashahar, the district headquarters, remained cut-off for the last few days due to landslide and washing away of a bridge.

While the water in river Deo was flowing above danger mark, water level in river Manu was also increasing.

A youth died after being struck by lightning in Telimura and one person was washed away by flash floods in Sabroom during the last two days.
