New Delhi, June 1: Leader of Opposition in Parliament and senior BJP leader L K Advani today strongly condemned the terrorist bid to attack RSS Headquarters at Nagpur this morning and said it was not an ordinary terrorist bid.

Reacting about the gunning down of three armed militants near the RSS Headquaters, Mr Advani said this office always remained a terrorist target but alert Nagpur police had foiled this bid. The information about the terrorist plot had been there since 2001-02 when the NDA government was in power and after this alert police was deployed as a precautionary measure.

He said after he had heard about the attack he had contacted the RSS to get briefed and they told him that there was prior information about an impending attack and the state reserve police were fully prepared to foil the attempt. He said at the time of attack, RSS Chief K S Sudarshan and Sarkaryavahak Mohan Bhagawat were not in the headquarters.

He said there had been steep increase in the terrorist activities for some time and the Centre should not be soft on such disruptive activities and put it down firmly.

He said there had also been an increase in the number of attacks in Doda in Jammu and Kashmir and attacks on tourists in the state with an intention of affecting the tourist inflow into the state.
