Two militants killed in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 1: Security forces killed two militants in an encounter in the central Kashmir district of Budgam late last night, a defence ministry spokesman said today.

The spokesman said troops of 53 Rashtriya Rifles conducted a search operation at Kralpora in Budgam district late last night.

During the operation militants opened fire. The fire was returned and in the ensuing exchange of fire two militants were killed.

Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
