15 externed from Muzaffarpur before panchayat polls tomorrow

Muzaffarpur, June 1 (UNI) The Muzaffarpur district administration has externed 15 people, a day before the Panchayat election, to ensure free and fair polls.

District Election Officer Vinay Kumar, who is also the District Magistrate, said here today that entry of these people had been banned till the completion of the polling.

Sudhanshu Kumar Pandey, Vijay Kumar Pandey, Mohammed Haider Ali, Vashishtha Narain Thakur, Mohammed Ali Hussain and Manoj Kumar Rai alias Subansh Rai are among the 15 externed.

He said the administration has made all arrangements for conducting the polls peacefully.

Meanwhile, a Bhagalpur report, quoting District Magistrate Bipin Kumar, also the District Election Officer, said that an FIR had been filed against 192 polling personnel for not reporting for duty for the Panchayat election scheduled tomorrow.

He said the polling personnel, including 67 presiding officers, did not report for duties at Kahalgao block headquarters today, prompting the authorities to take action against them.

He said departmental proceedings would also be initiated against them after the poll process was over.
