11 Indians in Bangkok Airways Open

Bangkok, Jun 1 (UNI) Seasoned pros Amandeep Johl and Gaurav Ghei will spearhead the 11-member Indian challenge in the 300,000 dollar Bangkok Airways Open which tees off at the Santiburi Samui Country Club on June 8.

Apart from Johl and Ghei, other Indians in the fray include Harmeet Kahlon, SSP Chowrasia, Arjun Singh, Gurbaaz Mann, Digvijay Singh, Uttam Singh Mundy, Harinder Gupta and Amritinder Singh.

Eyes will be on rising Korean teenager Park Jun-won apart from Thai sensations Thaworn Wiratchant and Thongchai Jaidee.

Local youngster Chinarat Phadungsil will also be tipped to track alongside the front runners next week as he finished in the top-10 in his last two events on the Asian Tour.

The 17-year-old had made a career breakthrough when he lifted his maiden Asian Tour title at the Double A International Open in November last year beating Shiv Kapur in a play-off.
