Undertrial shot dead

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, May 31 (UNI) Police today shot dead an undertrail at Tadepalligudem Town of West Godavari District.

According to police, undertrails Veligatla Raju and Vasudeva Krishnaprasad were intially taken to a court in Tanuku from the Rajahmundry Central Jail where they were in remand in connection with theft cases.

As the magistrate was on leave, the police took them to Tadepalligudem Magistrate Court.During lunch hour, Veligatla Raju managed to give the slip to the armed police escorting them.

The other accused Vasudeva Krishnaprasad also tried to escape when he was shot at by one of the constables.

He was shifted to the Tadepalligudem Government Hospital where doctors declared him brought him dead.
