Two more bodies recovered, rescue operations on
Mangalore, Karnataka, May 31 (UNI) Two more bodies, believed to be that of the six fishermen feared drowned after they ventured into the sea for fishing on Sunday last, were found at Tottam and Airody seashore in Udupi taluk today.
According to the revenue officials, it was not immediately known whether the bodies were that of the fishermen reported missing or those stranded in the waters as the sea was rough due to incessant rain lashing coastal districts of the state for the last four days.
The six fishermen, who had ventured into the sea in four boats off the Malpe coast in Udupi district, were reported missing the next day. Their boats had capsized due to the rough weather and heavy rain and washed ashore near the Malpe Fisheries Port on Monday morning. The bodies of two had already been recovered in the last two days.
The officials said search operation by the coast guard personnel continued for the third day today to trace the remaining bodies and help those stranded in the waters.
