Two Bengali tourists killed in grenade attack in J
Kolkata, May 31 (UNI) At least two tourists from West Bengal were killed and 33 others injured in a grenade attack on two tourist buses by suspected terrorists near the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar this evening.
Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Jogesh Chatterjee, quoting J&K police, told UNI here that at least two grenades were lobbed on the buses at around 1810 hours at Dalgate near the famous Dal Lake when the buses were returning to Srinagar from Sonmarg.
He said the attack created panic among the people in the area and the tourists alike.
All the injured, including one child and four women, were immediately shifted to nearby hospital, where the condition of three was stated to be critical.
The identity of the deceased was not yet known, Mr Chatterjee said.
