Technocrats come up with indigenous tech to make bio-diesel
Hyderabd, May 31 (UNI) A four-member team of technocrats has claimed to have developed indigenous technology for extracting bio-diesel from Jatropa and Pongamia oil plants in the city Addressing the press here, Best Engineering Technologies Managing Partner and Team Member M Sesha Sai said the technology will be suitable for Indian atmospheric conditions and had the capacity to produce one tonne of bio-diesel a day.
Developed by simplifying the extraction of bio-diesel through 'Transesterfication' process, the technology will reduce power consumption and produce glycerin which had commercial applications.
The cost for establishing the bio-diesel plant would be around Rs ten lakh, Mr Sai said.
More than 200 entreprenuers from across the country will be attending the demonstration of two processing unit prototypes here tomorrow.
The team had also developed new technology for making products from aloe vera plants, Mr Sai claimed.
The new technology will enable the production of high quality aloe vera gel, cosmetics and herbal products in hygenic conditions for domestic and international market.
