TCS enters into partnership with SAP

New Delhi, May 31: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a patrnership agreement with global software provider SAP to invest in its joint marketing resources and provide strategic planning.

TCS, the first Asian partner of SAP, will collaborate with SAP and many of its independent software vendor (ISV) partners to develop and market specific solutions and services for the hospitality industry globally.

The company will also serve as a source of international deployment of SAP Business One to subsidiaries of corporate enterprises and apply its expertise in manufacturing to implement adaptive manufacturing solutions for customers worldwide, a release issued here said.

''We are pleased to announce that we are now a member of the Enterprise Services Community and already have some of our assets in government and manufacturing verticals on the SAP NetWeaver platform. Tata Consultancy Services sees tremendous opportunity to help customers in the adoption of enterprise Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for growth,'' TCS Head of Global Sales and Operations N Chandrasekaran said while making the announcement at SAP's global customer conference at Paris.

TCS' services practice for SAP applications currently and employs more than 2,200 people worldwide. It has over 62,000 consultants in all, located in 35 countries.

''TCS' domain, technology and global implementation capabilities, which leverages its Network Delivery Model, opens new opportunities to address customer needs and the organisation's good track record is something we look forward to leveraging across the globe,'' SAP President and Member of the Executive Board Leo Apotheker said.

SAP offers its applications to about 33,200 customers in more than 120 countries.
