Striking medicos to continue stir

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Unfazed by the Supreme Court warning, medicos agitating against the 27 per cent OBC quota in centres of higher education have decided to go ahead with their strike.

The decision was taken after nearly six-hour long discussion and consultations with legal experts at All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

''We have decided to go ahead with our strike...we have received no legal notice so far,'' Aniruddh Lochan, a spokesman for the agitating medicos said.

Earlier in the night, police removed the tents put up by the doctors for a parallel OPD at the AIIMS.

Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss will visit AIIMS today to meet patients and oversee arrangements to restore delivery of services, especially in view of the medical bandh called in the Capital today.
