Sreedharan likely to be Deputy Speaker

Pondicherry, May 31 (UNI) Senior Congress member A V Sreedharan, elected from Palloor constituency in Mahe region of the Union Territory is likely to be the new Deputy Speaker of the Territorial Assembly.

Mr Sreedharan filed his nomination paper today with the legislative assembly secretary Mr Sivaprakasam. Three sets of papers were also filed on behalf of Mr Sreedharan.

Since, there is no possibility of the opposition parties filing nomination for the post, Mr Sreedharan likely to be declared elected unopposed tomorrow.
