Six killed, one injured as Utility falls into gorge

Shimla, May 31 (UNI) Six people were killed and one seriously injured after the utility vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Kotkhai area of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh today, police said.

The accident occurred at Khaltu Nullah near Kotkhai area of the district at about 1700 hrs, killing six people on the spot and seriously injuring another.

Police said the bodies, badly mutilated, were recovered after much effort.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known, police said, adding that the dead were yet to be identified.

The injured person has been referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital here.
