Run held to mark the no tobacco day

Kochi, May 31 (UNI) Malayalam super star Suresh Gopi and young marathon runner from London Peter Dulvy today led 'run for the life' organised by the Heart Care Foundation to highlight the need of exercise to prevent heart ailments, on the World No Tobacco day.

Seminars, workshops, cycle rally and exhibitions were also held in the City to create awareness against smoking, under the aegis of different organisations to mark the day.

Mr Dulvy, along with his friends just two days ago completed 600 km run from Kasaragod to Kanyakumari.

City police commissioner P Vijayan flagged off the run from Fort Cochin.

Mr Dulvy said the urban people in the state were found more obese compared to the villagers.

The cadets of 21 Kerala Battalion of NCC organised a cycle rally and later cycled to various parts of the city with placards to send the message across.
