Rajasthan continues to sizzle as temperatures soar

Jaipur, May 31 (UNI): Rajasthan continues to sizzle as rising temperatures show no sign of abating.

Hot winds, duststorms and eratic power supply are making life miserable. The state capital recorded 44 degrees Centigrade today with the sun beating down mercilessly.

Kota recoreded a maximum of 46 degrees yesterday while the temperatures in all other regions continue to hover between 44 to 46 degrees Centigrade.

The temperatures touched 45 degree in Churu, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Jaisalmer and Barmer yesterday while Jaipur, Dabok and Ajmer recorded 44 degrees yesterday.

However, meteorological director, S S Singh, Jaipur centre, says the temperatures will record a fall of 3-4 degrees in Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajmer region within the next three days.

Raising hopes of a early monsoon, he also said the monsoon may come earlier than usual this year as Mumbai and Kerala are already witnessing early monsoons this year. If this trend continues, Rajasthan can expect monsoon after June 15 this year, he said.
