Punjab govt mergers DA with basic pay of private aided schools
Chandigarh, May 31 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet today approved to merge 50 percent of the DA with the basic pay of teaching and non-teaching staff of private aided schools with effect from April 2004.
The merger will be subject to the condition that the arrear payable to the employees of these schools upto March 31 this year shall have to be deposited in the National Saving Certificates to be purchased from post offices located in Punjab.The employees would be paid in cash with effect from April one this year.
This decision was taken in the meeting of the Cabinet held here which was presided over by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
The Cabinet also gave its nod for the transfer of 188 Government Primary schools in Bhatinda, Faridkot, Mansa, Moga, and Muktsar from the Education Department to the Panchayati Raj Instutitions (PRIs) thereby creating 650 additional posts.
This would provide employment to all eligible unemployed Elementary Trained Teachers (ETT) diploma holders applicable in the state.
