Pre-monsoon rains lash Vadodara

Vadodara, May 31 (UNI) Vadodara, reeling under sweltering heat since the last fortnight, experienced the first pre-monsoon rains this evening.

District control room sources said heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms were reported all over the city as well as in two talukas of Vadodara and Dabhoi in the district.

In the city, people, mostly children, were seen enjoying the first rains which continued for almost 40 minutes and brought down the temperature.

District collector Rajiv Topno said there had not been any rain-related untoward incidents. However, power supply was disrupted in several parts of the city following incidents of trees uprooting and snapping the overhead lines.
