Poland sunk by freak goal from Colombia keeper

CHORZOW, Poland, May 30: A freak goal from goalkeeper Luis Enrique Martinez helped Colombia record a 2-1 win today in Poland's last home friendly before the World Cup.

West Bromwich Albion keeper Tomasz Kuszczak's hopes of earning a starting place in the finals in Germany nosedived when he allowed Martinez's long punt to bounce over his head into the net in the 63rd minute.

''It seems Kuszczak may now have to forget about playing at the finals,'' commentator and former Porto striker Grzegorz Miecarski told television viewers.

Colombia opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Fredy Guarin's 35-yard free kick deflected in off striker Elkin Murillo.

Winger Ireneusz Jelen pulled a goal back for Poland in the last minute.
