Mulayam warns officials against laxity, corruption

Lucknow, May 31 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today cautioned senior administrative officers that laxity and corruption in development works at any level would not be tolerated.

Mr Yadav said officers being sent to the 39 districts for inspection of work under the ideal district plan, should submit their report to him by next Friday after first hand verification of the progress.

He also directed them to make night halt in the districts during their two-day visit for review and physical verfication of the progress of development work.

The CM said concerned officers should visit their allotted districts after a month for inspection of the development work.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Naveen Chandra Bajpai, while giving detailed directives regarding visit and night halt, said officers would verify the development works in allotted districts according to the check list being provided to them.

Mr Bajpai said progress of Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna, High School and Intermediate pass percentage in city areas, cleanliness of hospitals, availability of medicines, pulse polio campaign, vaccines for dog and snake bites, availability of sugar and kerosene oil, working of police stations, tree plantation and other public facilities would also be looked into.
