MPP, KIM condemn Nagaland CM's controversial remarks
Imphal, May 31 (UNI) The Manipur Peoples' Party (MPP), Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and other organisations of the state condemned Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphui Rio's statement during his recent visit to Manipur.
The Manipur Assembly has also criticised his visit and condemned the statement made by him on the controversial issue of Naga integration.
The NSCN(IM), which had been holding talks with the Union government for the almost a decade, demanded that large portions of Manipur, Asom, Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring Myanmar should be included to form Greater Nagaland or 'Nagalim.' This proposal has been condemned by the people of the respective states.
The Nagaland chief minister had reportedly asked MLAs of Manipur to support the integration issue.
Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has already declared that the Nagaland government did not inform them about the visit.
MPP President L Borajao said the statement of the Nagaland chief minister has hurt the sentiments of the people of Manipur and actions should be taken against him.
Manipur Kuki Inpi president P Gangte said that Mr Rio breached 'protocol' and 'provoked' the people.
