Fine imposed on Haryana government
Chandigarh, May 31 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today imposed a cost of Rs 1,000 per petitioner on the Haryana government while allowing the bunch of writ petitions of police constable Rohtas of Bhiwani and about 150 others who had sought the court's intervention against their inter-range transfers from Hisar to Gurgaon range.
The order was passed by the court's division bench of Justices M M Kumar and M M S Bedi who quashed the orders of the transfers of the petitioners issued on March 29,2006. The state government would have to pay nearly Rs 15 lakh by way of costs going by the large number of petitioners involved in this case of transfers.
