DGP's suprise checks unearth lacunae
Bhopal, May 31 (UNI) In the wake of surprise midnight checks on three local police stations, Madhya Pradesh Director-General of Police Swaraj Puri has suspended a station house officer (SHO) and directed Superintendent Anant Kumar Singh to get rid of lacunae plaguing the department, official sources said today.
The Koh-i-Fiza, Mangalwara and Jehangirabad stations were inspected. At the first place, investigation were found lax and several 'challans' were pending. Registering of FIRs for serious crimes and their investigation was not being undertaken by the SHO.
The DGP found SHO Dinesh Dwivedi prima facie guilty of disinterest in duty and not exercising adequate control over juniors. A departmental inquiry was ordered.
Sub-Inspector Rakesh Srivastava and Head Constable Mehtab Singh earned negative entries in the service book.
At Mangalwara, Mr Puri found lack of cleanliness and indiscipline. He warned SHO D S Chouhan that the lacunae should not persist.
The DGP warned Jehangirabad SHO S M Zaidi after finding that investigation and 'challan' work was delayed.
