Decks cleared for BCCI special general body meeting
Mumbai, May 31 (UNI) The decks were cleared for holding of the special general body meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) here tomorrow after the Karnataka High Court quashed a petition challenging the meeting to be called without three-fourth majority.
The petition had been filed seeking the High Court's direction to the BCCI to have three-fourth majority for calling the meeting instead of the present two-third.
Niranjan Shah, BCCI secretary, said the main agenda of the meeting would be to discuss on ways to merge the Women's Cricket board with the BCCI.
The other issue to be discussed at the meeting would be the resolution of the tussle of the Bihar and Jharkhand cricket boards, Mr Shah added.
Mr Shah also said that the BCCI would also discuss on the road map to be adopted for the 2011 World Cup which will be co-hosted by India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
