Davydenko through due to Saretta's cold

PARIS, May 31 (Reuters) Russian Nikolay Davydenko moved into the third round of the French Open today when his Brazilian opponent Flavio Saretta retired in the second set.

Saretta told a press conference he had caught a cold.

''He told me he was sick from yesterday and that he felt too tired to play,'' said Davydenko.

The sixth seed was leading 6-2 4-1 when Saretta quit and he will meet either former Roland Garros champion Carlos Moya or compatriot Mikhail Youzhny in the next round.
