'Bahu' kills 'Sasur' with lathi

Jagadhri, May 31 (UNI) A woman hit her 70-year-old father-in-law with a stick, resulting in the death of the old man at Kalesar village in Yamunanagar district of Haryana, police said today.

The incident occured last night when Geeta hit in the head of her father-in-law Ballu Ram with a stick after an altercation over a family matter. The old man was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injury around midnight, police said.

Geeta's husband, a labourer, was not at home when the incident occurred, police said.

A case under Section 302 of the IPC was registerd against Geeta and the investigation was on, they said.
