Amitabh-Shabnam row takes a new turn

Patna, May 31 (UNI) A new dimension to the Amitabh-Shabnam row was added when a local civil court today admitted the defamation damage suit of Rs five crore filed by IPS officer Amitabh Kumar Das against a lady Shabnam Sinha and some scribes of a local Hindi daily.

While admitting the suit for hearing, Sub-judge of Patna Shahid Khan today passed an order to issue summons to Ms Sinha and other defendants to appear in the case.

A civil suit was filed by IPS officer Mr Das stating that allegation of sexual exploitation levelled against him by Shabnam Sinha and its regular publication by the daily maligned his reputation and prestige and also lowered down the status of his family in the society.

The next date of hearing had been fixed on June 20.
