4 killed as bus plunges into gorge

Coimbatore, May 31 (UNI) Four people were killed and over 30 injured, some of them seriously, when a state-owned bus in which they were travelling plunged into a gorge near Kavilorai Village of Nilgris District this evening.

Police identified the deceased as Lakshmanan (45), Chikka (35), Nithya (9) and Mallammal (65). The injured were admitted to the government hospital at Udhagamandalam.

The bus was on the way to Udhagamandalam from Kavilorai when the accident occurred.
