UP to modernise Rampur Sugarmill
Lucknow, May 30 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today approved the modernisation of the ailing Rampur Sugarmill, owned by UP Sugarmill Corporation, in the next two years.
UP will spend Rs 61.50 crore to increase the crushing capacity of the mill from 1,250 metric tonne per day (MTPD) to 2,500 MTPD.
Later, the crushing capacity can be increased to 3,500 MTPD.
The proposal was approved by the state cabinet here today.
UP chief secretary N C Bajpayee said the cabinet approved the project report of National Cooperative Sugar Federation on the modernisation of the sugarmill.
He said of the total, loan would comprise 50 per cent of the amount, while the rest would be equity participation of the state government in the unit.
The amount would be released in a phased manner, he informed.
