Srinagar, May 30 (UNI) The Muzaffarabad-based United Jehad Council (UJC), an umbrella organisation of several militant groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir, has dissociated itself from terror strikes before and after the second round-table conference here.

In a faxed statement to the local media here, UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain alleged that such incidents were being carried out by the ''Indian intelligence agencies to malign the freedom movement in Jammu and Kashmir and to alienate the people, including Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs from militants.'' ''The killing of Hindus at Doda and a grenade attack on the procession against the massacre was a plot of the Indian intelligence agencies,'' he said.

The spokesman claimed that the police had seized the identity cards of the people affiliated with the BJP and the Bajrang Dal from the spot.

He also regretted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's attribution of such incidents to the militants and appealed to international human rights agencies to probe these in an impartial manner so that the real culprits were punished.
