Trader robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh

Varanasi, May 30 (UNI) Unidentified criminals today robbed a trader of Rs 1.5 lakh in cash outside a bank in Madanpura area here.

Police said Kamal Ahmad, a Banarasi Sari trader, was on way to the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch to deposit cash yesterday, when two youth accosted him.

The duo sprayed intoxicant on his face, following which Kamal fell unconscious.

On regaining conscience, Kamal found the bag containing Rs 1.5 lakh missing. He later informed the police.

A search was on to nab the culprits.
