Toll reaches three in Bengal with mercury soaring
Kolkata, May 30 (UNI) One person died of sun stroke today in Purulia district taking the toll to three in the district.
Met sources said Purulia recorded 44.7 degrees Celsius today, the highest recorded so far.
However, the city received scant rainfall at a few places today, after experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall for the last three days.
Weathermen informed that Kolkata recorded 1 mm rainfall till 1630 hrs.
Met officials said the highest temperature was 35.9 degree Celsius compared to 34.3 degree Celsius recorded yesterday. Even the minimum temperature was appreciably higher at 28.7 degree Celsius, four degree higher than yesterday.
