New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) Stating that the BJP always supported the urge of people of Telangana to have a separate Telangana state, the party today said people were feeling let down by the 'betrayal' of the Congress and TRS parties which rode to power promising a separate state.

Telangana issue not only figured in BJP President Rajnath Singh's address during the inaugural session of the two-day National Executive but also found its way into the unanimous resolution adopted by the Executive. The UPA has let down Telangana creation of a separate state and the people are increasingly restless with the betrayal, the resolution said.

Asked about the BJP's action plan, BJP Spokesman Arun Jaitley said the local BJP unit will decide upon it.

The party has already announced its decision to observe 'Telangana Betrayal Day' at Mehboob Nagar on June two where Mr Singh will be addressing the rally.

In a related development, state BJP Chief and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya told newspersons that the resolution supporting the creation of a separate Telangana state was a historic decision. The people of Telangana region apart from wanting development were yearning for a separate state.

He said the Congress and TRS promised a separate state and nothing had happened even after two years. If TRS has any 'self respect', they should come out of the UPA and his party would consider working for making the state a reality.
