Sensex closes 67 points, Nifty fell by 30 points

Mumbai, May 30: The Sensex reached close 11,000 mark as it surged 135.09 points at 10,988.23, closed 66.51 points down at 10,786.63 and stood below the 10,800 level.

The bourses remained volatile as the Sensex squandered 100 points after having gained over 100 points at one point of time post mid-session.Infirmity in auto, cement and non-ferrous metal scrips pulled the market down in a spiral during the last hour of trade.

The top gainers on the BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex) were- Cipla up by 2.09 to Rs 241, Infosys by 2.06 per cent to Rs 3027.65, Tata Power by 1.96 per cent to Rs 516.35, TCS by 0.85 per cent to Rs 1861.65, Satyam Computers by 0.58 per cent to Rs 709.60, BHEL by Rs 0.27 per cent by 1958.45, L&T by 0.27 to Rs 2450.50, ICICI by 0.16per cent to Rs 569.80, NTPC by 0.13 per cent to Rs 114.70, and Wipro by 0.04 to Rs 470.65.

Among the major losers were Hero Honda Motors down by 4.83 per cent to 803.70, Tata Motors by 4.48 per cent to 788.20, Maruti Udyog Ltd by 3.20 per cent to 765.70 Bhaati Trele Ventures 3.16 per cent to Rs 368.45, ACC by 2.67 per cent to 779.20, Gujarat Ambuja Cements by 2.66 per cent to 95.25, State Bank of India down by 2.47 at Rs 860.45, Tata Steel by 2.46 to Rs 547.50, Reliance Energy by 2.30 at Rs 514.65, Hinalco was down by 1.80 at Rs 185.30.
