Rs 1200 cr paper mill unit in offing

Rajahmundry, May 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will lay the foundation stone for Rs 1200-crore White Field Paper Mills Limited (WFPML) at Tadipudi Village at Tallapudi Mandal near Kovvur in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh tomorrow, according to WFPML chairman T Srinivas Rao.

He told newspersons here that the proposed installed capacity of the mills would be two lakh tonnes per annum.

He said the pulp required for the mills would be imported from Sweden. It would also have product marketing agreement with a Swedish company.

He said commercial production of paper in the new mill would commence in December 2008. The mill would offer employment for 1000 personnel and indirect employment for about 10,000 people.

Mr Rao said the Indian paper market had a growth rate of six per cent per annum. The estimated growth in the next ten years was 15 million tonnes per annum, thanks to increasing literacy rate.
