Nitish Kumar put in the dock on reservation issue

Patna, May 30 (UNI) A complaint case was today filed against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his cabinet colleagues for alleged violation of reservation norms in recruiting personnel for raising Special Auxiliary Police (SAP).

The case was filed before Patna Chief Judicial Magistrate Sushma Sinha by the president of 'Alpjan Samaj Party', Sasaram, Deepak Kumar Srivastava, convenor of coordination committee of deprived and backward classes, Patna, Kishori Das and president of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe advocates' association, Patna High Court, Rajkumar Paswan.

Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, ministers Narendra Narayan Yadav, Narendra Singh, Nand Kishore Yadav, Chandra Mohan Rai, Monazir Hassan, Baidyanath Prasad, Ramashrya Prasad Singh, Rameshwar Paswan, Brishen Patel, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Ms Sudha Srivastava, Ashwani Kumar Chaubey, Prem Kumar, Janaradan Singh Sigriwal, Chief Cecratary G.S.Kang and Director General of Police Ashish Ranjan Sinha were also made accused in the case.

According to the complaint case violation of the provision relating to reservation under 'The Bihar reservation of vacancies in post and services act of 1991' was committed in employment of retired military persons in SAP by a decision of the Cabinet.

The complaint petition said the case was filed awaiting sanction order for the prosecution for which a letter to the Governor was sent.

The court has fixed June 1 for hearing on the matter.
