Manipur rivers flowing at danger mark

Imphal, May 30 (UNI) Almost all major rivers in Manipur were flowing at danger maek following continuous rain in the state for past four days.

Official sources said the river waters of Iril, Nambul and the Imphal were flowing at danger point due to incessant rain in the region.

Meanwhile, the state government has geared up its machineries and identified areas in anticipation of flood where water levels reached at danger points, sources said.

So far there had been no report of any major incident inspite of incessant rains threatened to submerge low lying areas in different parts of the state.

All the valley areas of the state were vulnerable, they added.

MET office here recorded a rainfall of about 19.9 mm during the past 24 hours. More rainfall was also predicted in the next few more days.
