Japan stocks seen moving little, output data awaited

TOKYO, May 30 (Reuters) Japanese stocks are expected to move little on Tuesday, with the market lacking new trading factors following holidays in the United States and Britain.

While investors were awaiting industrial output data for April, due to be released before the start of trade, the figures are unlikely to have much impact unless they are well out range of market expectations, said Toru Otsuka, deputy general manager of investment information at Mizuho Investors Securities.

''Right now the market is facing a dearth of factors, especially after the holidays in the United States and the UK,'' he said.

''While investors do want to see the results from industrial output, that is unlikely to have a big impact on stock trading. I don't think it will be much different from what the market is expecting.'' Industrial output is expected to increase 1.8 percent from March after a rise of 0.2 percent the month before.

Nikkei futures were untraded in Chicago, due to a national holiday. Traders expect the Nikkei average to move between 15,800 and 16,100 on Tuesday.

The Nikkei gave up early gains to close 0.34 percent lower at 15,915.68 on Monday on profit-taking after it topped 16,000 for the first time in a week.
