Iran says may talk if US changes behaviour
Putrajaya, Malaysia, May 30 : Iran may enter into direct talks with the United States over Tehran's nuclear programme provided Washington changes its behaviour, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki today said.
Speaking after attending a meeting of non-aligned states in Malaysia, Mottaki told reporters Iran would not accept any pre-conditions to resuming negotiations.
''For the time being, we have suspended direct talks (with the United States). After a change of their behaviour we may consider again,'' he said.
The United States and its Western allies believe Iran is trying to build a nuclear bomb, though Tehran insists its atomic programme is aimed solely at producing energy.
