Guj FSL gets ISO/IEC certifications

Gandhinagar, May 30 (UNI) Gujarat Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been awarded ISO/IEC 17025-2005 certifications for its outstanding performance in solving crime, Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah has said.

Speaking at the inauguration function of three-day long training session for security officers of private business houses and banks at FSL headquarters here yesterday, Mr Shah said the certifications have been awarded by the National Accreditation Board of Testing and Caliberation Laboratories (NABTCL).

Mr Shah lauded the Gujarat FSL officials whose efforts have made the FSL a standalone entity compared to other FSLs in the country.

The Gujarat FSL is the first FSL in the country to receive the certifications, Mr Shah said.

Participants at the three-day training session will be trained in the use of new technologies for prevention of crimes and they would also be made aware of their legal rights by the Gujarat FSL experts.
