Charges framed against asstt sub inspector trial tomorrow
Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) Charges were framed against Assistant Sub Inspector Bhagwan Pakhre by the Sessions court today for murdering a 40-year-old woman on December 30 and the trial will starat tomorrow.
Additional Sessions Judge N P Dalvi framed charges against Pakhre under sections 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code-- murder and destruction of evidence and proceeded to start the trial from tomorrow.
As sought by the public prosecutor Dilip Shah his bail application would be taken up after recording the evidences of three key witnesses in this case.
According to prosecution, a florist who was travelling in a taxi had seen a body being dumped from a jeep at Senapati Bapat Marg in Central Mumbai. He had also noted down the number of the fleeing jeep and informed the police control room.
The police later spotted the jeep and arrested the accused. The police seized the vehicle in which a mobile phone belonging to the victim Archana Gaikwad was recovered.
The 54-year-old Pakhre, attached to the L T Marg police station, was having an ''illicit relationship'' with the victim, who was separated from her husband.
