Accused in Malkhan Singh murder case arrested

New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) A man wanted in connection with the killing of former UP MLA Malkhan Singh and his personal security officer earlier this year was arrested following an encounter at Patparganj in East Delhi today, police said.

Sonu Gautam, 23, for whose arrest a reward of Rs 25,000 was declared by UP police, was also wanted in five other cases of crime in Aligarh district of the state. He was a sharp shooter of the Tejvir Singh gang, police said.

A sophisticated .32 bore revolver with three live and two used cartridges was seized from him. A case under various sections of the IPC and the Arms Act was registered against him at Mandawali police station.

According to police, Sonu was wanted for the murder of former MLA and Aligarh district Rashtriya Lok Dal president Malkhan Singh in March this year.
