3 children buried alive as mound collapses

Kanpur, May 30 (UNI) Three children, including two girls, were buried alive when a mound collapsed in Akbarpur area of Kanpur (Rural) district in Uttar Pradesh today.

Police said five children were digging soil at Billai village for domestic use, when the mishap occurred.

They were rushed to hospital, where Sarvesh (11), Uma (14) and Soni (15) were pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the condition of two others Brijesh (9) and Rinku (10) was stated to be critical.

The bodies had been sent for autopsies.
