2 killed as bus brakes fail

Pondicherry, May 30 (UNI) One person was killed and seven injured, one of them critically, in a road accident at Gorimedu, near here, today.

According to police, the mishap occurred when a town bus, which suffered a brake failure, hit six motorcycles, two tempos, two cars and an ambulance before coming to a halt.

Sugumaran, who was riding a motorcycle, was run over by the bus.

He was a native of Chennai.

The injured were admitted to the JIPMER Hospital here.
