1.20 lakh temporary ration cards to be disbursed by June

Bangalore, May 30 (UNI) Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Karjol today said his department proposed to distribute temporary ration cards to 1.20 lakh families in 175 taluks before June 15.

Talking to reporters here, he said the temporary cards, to be supplied simultaneously, would be valid till November, when computerised permanent ration cards would be issued.

The department, in its resurvey, had identified 1.20 lakh beneficiaries, including ten lakh new ones, and cancelled 16 lakh bogus card holders.
