TDP, TRS leaders join Congress

Hyderabad, May 28 (UNI) Leaders of opposition Telugu Desam Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti today joined the Congress in the presence of PCC president K Kesava Rao at the party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan here today.

The TDP leaders, who joined the Congress, included former party Vice-President and MP V Tulasi Ram and fomer MLA Dr V Sivaramakrishna, while former general secretary of the TRS M Naziruddin along with his followers joined the Congress party.

Several TDP and TRS mandal party presidents and local representatives of the two parties were also inducted in the Congress by the PCC president.

The TDP and TRS leaders said they joined the Congress as they were attracted by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's initiative of constructing irrigation projects to transform the state into 'Harithandra pradesh.' UNI AP CH RN0013
