SIS to raise head count in the next 12 months

Chennai, May 29: Sundaram Infotech Solutions (SIS), the IT services arm of five-decade-old Sundaram Finance Ltd, has announced plans to hire over 500 professionals in the next 12 months, thus tripling its headcount in Chennai.

The company, which has recently implemented a couple of large value offshore IT solution deals in the UK and Sri Lanka, has also announced aggressive overseas expansion plans.

''SIS will target markets in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE, as well as the US, in addition to expanding its presence in markets like UK and Sri Lanka as part of its overseas expansion,'' a company release said today.

SIS, which has a 50,000 sq ft software development facility in Chennai, also plans to double its infrastructure presence to over 1,00,000 sq ft this year.
