Salim Gujjar gang members nabbed
Bhind, MP, May 29 (UNI) Four reward-carrying members of the Salim Gujjar gang, which has a reign of terror in this state and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, were arrested during an encounter at about 1600 hrs today in this district's Umri forest.
Superintendent of Police Rajababu Singh said ''Gujjar managed to escape but we are trying to track him down. Those apprehended included siblings and Salim's nephews Chhote Pandit and Bunty Gujjar, each carrying purses of Rs 5,000, besides Jitendra Singh and Virendra Singh.'' Two 12-bore rifles were seized. Madhya Pradesh Police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on Salim while the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh figure was Rs 1 lakh.
