Prof Bhumitra Dev is acting VC Agra University

Lucknow, May 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor T V Rajeswar today appointed Prof Bhumitra Dev as acting Vice Chancellor (VC) of Dr B R Ambedkar Agra University.

Prof Dev is the former VC of Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.

Mr Rajeswar has also ordered an inquiry into the affairs of Agra University following complaints received in respect of its functioning.

The probe will be conducted by former UP DGP V S Mathur.

Mr Mathur has been asked to go into the various complaints and submit his report within a period of one month.

Agra University VC Prof A S Kukla has been directed to refrain from functioning as VC during the inquiry period.
