MCX index closes 0.04 pts down at 2329.23

Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 884.93 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2329.23 down by 0.84 points (-0.04 per cent). The total trades registered were 19,134.

The MCX metal index closed at 2670.85, up by 8.97 points (0.34 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2723.04, up by 8.33 points (0.31 per cent), and MCX agri index closed at 1593.79 down by 19.83 (-1.24 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 447.35 crore, including various MCX gold at Rs 314.71 crore and MCX silver at Rs 132.64 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 5761. The open interest for gold was 9,359 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,60,115 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 85.03 crore with 1,731 trades, while MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 41.90 crore with 458 trades.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 8.85 crore with open interest of 3,92,900 BBL.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 45.15 crore with 1,859 trades and mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 82.19 crore with 4,189 trades while chana registered a turnover of Rs 28.59 crore with 949 trades.

MCX gold June-06 closed at Rs 9,661, down by Rs 20 (-0.21 per cent), August closed at Rs 9,861, down by Rs 14 (-0.14 per cent) and October closed at Rs 10,069, down by Rs 19 (-0.19 per cent).

MCX silver July-06 closed at Rs 19,366 up by Rs 74 (0.38 per cent), September closed at Rs 19,969, down by Rs 71 (-0.36 per cent) and December closed at Rs 20,581, down by Rs 10 (-0.05 per cent).
