LDF Govt given one month time to clarify stand on Smart City
Kochi, May 29 (UNI) The Kerala Government today sought two months time before the state High Court to take a policy decision on executing the final agreement for the establishment of the Smart City project here.
A Division Bench comprising Justice K S Radhakrishnan and Justice V Ramkumar, however, granted one month's time to the state government to inform it about its stance on the matter.
Earlier, the High Court had directed the government pleader to ascertain the stand of the present LDF government on setting up of the project at Kakkanad.
The Bench sought an explanation from the government pleader while considering a writ petition, filed by the 'Adhinivesa Prathirodha Samiti', seeking a direction to the government not to sign the agreement with the Dubai Internet City.
A writ petition filed by land owners challenging the land acquisition for the project is also pending consideration before the court.
